About Coach Deontae Hargrove

PressPoint Academy is led by Coach Deontae Hargrove, a defensive specialist dedicated to developing elite defensive backs and linebackers through detailed, position-specific coaching.

A DMV native, Coach Hargrove is a former standout defensive player at Falls Church High School, where he earned 2× First Team All-Conference, 2× First Team All-Region, and First Team All-State honors before graduating in 2017. He went on to play collegiate football as a safety and outside linebacker at Frostburg State University, competing at the next level and further sharpening his understanding of defensive play.

Following his playing career, Coach Hargrove transitioned into coaching, where he has spent the last five years coaching high school football in the state of Virginia, exclusively in the defensive backs role. His coaching stops include Wakefield High School, Falls Church High School, South County High School, and Lake Braddock Secondary School, giving him a deep understanding of athlete development across multiple programs and systems.

In addition to coaching, Coach Hargrove has been providing personal football training for the past three years, working with middle school, high school, and collegiate athletes, including players at the Division I, Division II, and Division III levels. His experience allows him to adapt training to each athlete’s age, skill level, and goals while maintaining the same high standard of technique and discipline.

Coach Hargrove is known for his attention to detail, ability to teach the “why” behind every movement, and commitment to developing confident, disciplined defenders. Parents trust his professionalism and structure, while athletes respect his honesty, energy, and ability to push them to new levels.
